MYLAN RELAY FOR HOPE
The Mylan Relay for Hope was a cross Canada relay race by 45 separate runners which lasted 6 months. The runners, their van and driver left St. John's, NL, in mid April and arrived exactly 6 months later in Hope, B.C. at the Hope Secondary School in presence of dignataries and students. The objective of this 8,000 kilometer relay race wasto raise awareness and funds for AIDS and HIV infected Canadians, in collaboration with the Canadian AIDS Society. This 178-day trip was a major logistic undertaking which involved flying/bussing runners in and out from their start and finish points in the middle of nowhere more often then ever, coordinating running distances with spleeing locations, special events in key cities and sponsor related activities in between.
